La Fiesta de la Virgen del Pino is a religious and popular parade in honor of La Virgen del Pino. It is worth going here for a few hours to become a part of this happy event.
The procession takes place every September 7. The procession shuffles along Paseo González Díaz and reaches the door of the basilica, where the painting "La Virgen del Pino" is located.
Representatives of all the municipalities of the island of Gran Canaria, each of the Canary Islands and the municipality of Candelaria, which is the partner city of Teror, participate in it. Each group has its own car filled with things that represent a given locality or area. The procession is very cheerful, the passage of carts is mixed up with dances, performances by local orchestras or treating spectators with food.
