While working on the construction of the section of the western bypass of Gliwice, concrete foundations for anti-aircraft batteries from the time of World War II were unveiled. Probably these are the remains of the stationed in the area: schwere Heimat-flak-batterie 203 / VIII, which was one of 9 batteries from unit Heimat-Flak-Abteilung 51 / VIII Gleiwitz. These units were part of the Luftwaffe air defense system.
There are many other remains of Nazi German units in the area of Silesia. A good example is Dziergowice and Flak-Großbatterie.
