Sławików

The bike led me this time in the village of Sławików located in the Silesian Voivodship. The village is beautifully situated, and by taking road 421 you can admire the terraces of fields descending down to the Odra river.

One of the main attractions are the ruins of the neoclassical palace from 1865. There was a battle between the Germans and the Red Army in the town, during which the palace was partially destroyed in 1945. After 1945, the equipment of the palace was stolen. The palace was neglected and devastated in communist times and turned into a ruin.

There is a parish church dedicated to Saint George (Kościół Rzymskokatolicki pw. św. Jerzego) near the ruins. The church was erected in the years 1842-1846, in the neo-Gothic style.
